This is a stunning piece of silk fabric printed in the traditional way in India.
The silk is woven, the wood blocks carved, the indigo and madder grown, collected. The indigo vat has been going for years.
The fabric printed with resists to form the traditional patterns and dyed rinsed, printed and dyed again. Rinsed and dried in the sun and dust of India. An intricate involved process learnt and taught through generations of family members.
